As the school year draws to an end, we would like to take the opportunity to thank you for your continuing support of our service.
Our collection has been used by over 9000 pupils across 60 schools in the region this year, yet again increasing from last year. Our thanks go out to you for passing information on to other teachers and schools. We are grateful that our service continues to be so well supported by teachers across the east midlands.
We have loved meeting you at our free Teachers’ Open House events at Nottingham Castle and Wollaton Hall – and we look forward to welcoming you to Newstead Abbey in the next school year. Look out for the new dates in the Autumn term.
You are able to book from us up to a year in advance, and we have already taken lots of bookings for next year. Please do contact us (contact details below) if you wish to renew your subscription, book any resources for 2017/18 or if you would like to have one of our great object handling training sessions in your school. We also welcome visitors to our store (please contact us for an appointment) to come and have a look at some of the 11,000 objects in our collection and to discuss the different ways that we can help to support your learning in school.
We are keen for the collection to be used as widely as possible so if you have any ideas for work that you would like us to help with, then please get in touch.
After 4 years of holding steady our prices will be going up from the 1st of September City Schools will be £75 for a half term loan and Academies and County Schools will be £80, our Galleries to Go sessions and subscriptions will be staying the same price making them even better value! All bookings taken before the 1st of September, however, will stay at this year’s price.
You can see more information on our service, including images of all our resource boxes and introductory films about Galleries to Go, on our website: www.nottinghamheritage.org.uk/accessartefacts
